Sally Anne Fitter delights in painting still life with familiar objects often with a strong presence of texture and pattern which hints beautifully of a textile design background. Her imaginative eye for colour leads her to employ a warm, rich palette, and she uses numerous painting techniques to develop a variety of surface textures. Her strong instinct for innovative design and composition invites the viewer to take a second look at scenes and objects that seem at first to be ordinary and familiar, but under her expert hand become both intriguing and engaging….
Sally studied ceramics at Bristol Art School gaining a first class honours degree, then went on to teach art and ceramics at Latymer boys school in London. after a textile design course at Chelsea school of art, she set up and ran her own textile design studio in London. Her creations have been selling worldwide for nearly 10 years to clients such as Ralph Lauren in New York, Laura Ashley and Liberty of London.
